KHS Donates Books to KES

On April 29, as part of our Educational Outreach Program, board members from the Historical Society visited Killingworth Elementary School.  Board President Linda Dudek, Trin Walton, Cynthia Rich, and Town Historian Tom Lentz arrived at KES armed with 60 copies of Lentz's Photographic History of Killingworth books to present to the 3rd grade classes to aid students in their research as they begin their yearly study of town history. The students and teachers were delighted to receive the donation!

At the end of May, the 3rd graders will visit the Union District “Green Schoolhouse” on Roast Meat Hill Road where they will experience of what it was like to attend a one-room school house in the late 1800s.
